About this artwork
This series of works represents a stage in the evolution of contemporary art, where comics, Pop Art and graffiti merge into a new and powerful language. The onomatopoeias and explosive colours are not just pop quotes, but tools for reflection on the role of the image in the visual era. Art comes out of its frames, dialogues with urban culture and transforms entertainment into thought. In this balance between irony and depth, memory and present, the…
artistic gesture becomes a vital act: it amplifies reality and makes it immediate, alive, necessary.

« Painting is like entering a bubble where time is suspended and nothing else exists. »
Giuseppe Valia aka Giuppy is an artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. For him, the act of creation is a portal, connecting him with the unexplored, as well as an escape. Valia's works are diverse in both theme and genre, his atmospheric urban landscapes, graffiti-inspired pieces, and portraits are most often created using oils, acrylics, and spray paint on canvas or wood.
