About this artwork
In this stirring charcoal expression, I've channeled the raw energy of the human spirit through bold, sweeping strokes and a tempest of colors. An exploration of emotion and identity, each line and hue reflects a narrative of personal struggle and triumph. The dynamic play of light and darkness imbues the piece with life, suggesting a presence that fills any room with intensity and passion.

« Painting and painting over, closing in, and the alternation of repetition and reversal. »
GyoBeom An is an artist based in South Korea whose paintings have been featured in several solo exhibitions nationally. He describes his artistic process as being based on the collection of images of interest, which he then transforms into another piece by adding "an inner feeling to them". His vibrant compositions are most often created with oils and charcoal on canvas.
