About this artwork
Apart from her, no one else is out on this vast plain. Ominous clouds hang in the sky, and a mysterious, luminous object floats in the distance. But the rider is not afraid. She has a faithful companion, and her pensive gaze is fixed on the bright sun, which stands on the horizon and bathes the sky in a warm red hue.

Hans Batschauer is a German painter who exhibits nationally and internationally in both group and solo exhibitions.
Originally painting with oil and acrylic, since 2021 he has focused entirely on digital painting in the style of New Surrealism.
He creates “transformative and mysterious paintings,” as he himself writes, which convey a unique visual language of suggestive power in luminous colors.
In doing so, he does not imitate classical painting techniques, but creates complex hybrid compositions using a whole range of digital tools.
At the heart of his often symbolically and religiously charged picture stories is man with his feelings, dreams and longings.
