About this artwork
The history of the restaurant "Im Elfde Gebod" goes back around 600 years. It is said to be the oldest restaurant in Antwerp. Countless statues of saints and angels adorn the restaurant, which is surrounded by many myths and stories. With my picture I have added another story.

Hans Batschauer is a German painter who exhibits nationally and internationally in both group and solo exhibitions.
Originally painting with oil and acrylic, since 2021 he has focused entirely on digital painting in the style of New Surrealism.
He creates “transformative and mysterious paintings,” as he himself writes, which convey a unique visual language of suggestive power in luminous colors.
In doing so, he does not imitate classical painting techniques, but creates complex hybrid compositions using a whole range of digital tools.
At the heart of his often symbolically and religiously charged picture stories is man with his feelings, dreams and longings.
