About this artwork
Basic in my work is a geometrical approach. Rectangulars, squars, circles and lines are the shapes I like to use. Those shapes are universal, they guarantee a strong image. In my opinion plastic arts has to reveal something that moves people. But behind the surface of the painting there has to be another reality.
I was invited to make an exhibition and at the time I inspected the spot there where shadows made by the sun which shone through the… branches before the window.
I reproduced this work at different sizes and it is also possible to order a size you prefer.
Max 200 x 100 cm.
In this painting, I channel raw emotion through sharp, geometric forms, using gouache to create depth in the rich red tones. The jagged vertical shape pulses with energy, evoking a heartbeat or soundwave, connecting chaos and order. I wanted this artwork to bring a bold, dynamic presence to your space, filling it with intensity and movement that stirs your senses every time you see it.
Hans Ensink op Kemna is a Dutch painter and conceptual artist trained in Monumental Composition at AKI Academy, whose background includes significant awards and collaborative curatorial work. He employs a geometric visual language—rectangles, squares, circles, and lines—fusing rational structure with intuitive, sensitive choices in color and form. Through his art, he explores the interplay between nature and culture, encouraging introspection, imagination, and a reconsideration of how we perceive space and the human presence within it.
