In this piece, I poured raw emotion into bold geometric shapes and vibrant pastel colors, aiming to evoke energy and tension simultaneously. Each angled form contrasts yet balances, creating a dynamic rhythm that invites viewers to explore layers of expression and form. It’s meant to ignite your space with a burst of intensity and thoughtful complexity, sparking endless interpretation and vibrant life.
Hans Oerlemans, born Bergen op Zoom Netherlands July 15, 1954, self-taught
After 45 years of working internationally in hotels and restaurants, it was time to give my hobby and passion a chance and actively experience it. I was given the opportunity to visit exhibitions, museums and studios all those years. My attention was mainly focused on the abstract expressionism of American artists. My work is inspired by this movement, among other things.
My choice of materials provides the inspiration for form and color, put on the canvas with speed and passion. The canvas gives me the space to express the feeling without any limitations, through this freedom works are created that make me curious about the result. I call it a contemporary answer to Action Painting, the great gesture of energy and power.
