“The ARRIVAL (Var. Cloud)” is inspired by Chinese Taoism and the 2016 science fiction film “Arrival” by Denis Villeneuve.
Sometimes what happens in front of our eyes seems too strange to be real; on the other hand, we tend to see what we want to see, what we expect. Our brain likes this game. - Therefore, “Arrival” focuses on playing with the ambivalences of appearances and forms.

Harald Gsaller is an award-winning digital painter/draftsman, photographer, and writer based in Vienna/Austria/Europe whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in China, Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, and the United States. The artist draws inspiration from the heritage of Western philosophy, rhetorics, science, popular culture, and art. In recent years his artistic expression has been heavily influenced by (Chinese) Taoist philosophy and visual culture. Gsaller's practice encompasses digital drawing and painting, photography, and giving lecture performances.
