About this artwork
After some time spent painting more representationally, I wanted to paint freely again, without constraints of form or motif. My aim was to create impulsively within the color space of friendly, pastel reddish and pinkish hues. I allowed myself to be carried away by the dynamics of the painting process, and so, after many phases of building up and removing individual sections, the character of this painting slowly emerged, which could then be shaped…
into a unified whole in the final stages. I let whatever needed to be done in the painting process unfold naturally, and thus, impulsive creativity shaped this modern, cheerful painting with the positive message: "a touch of happiness!"
