About this artwork
The painting "The Fall" references the loss of innocence described in the Fall of Adam and Eve. The flowers atop the table which the girls are so interested in have a sexual overtone and an exoticism which attracts them. The older of the two girls has explored further and has fallen after standing on her chair to see better and perhaps pick a flower. It is a glimpse into the private world of play between 2 young women.
