About this artwork
Inspiration: wrecks, rust, decay. The painting was created after the artist had watched a film documentary about a sunken submarine. Material: acrylic, pigments, marble flour, sand, wooden rivets, rust effect colour on canvas. A layered and textured abstract composition. Please note that lighting will make a difference in the mood and feel of the painting.

HEGO (Heinz Goevert) is a painter from Germany whose works have been exhibited in solo and group shows internationally. After playing as a drummer for many years in various rhythm and blues bands, HEGO decided to rediscover a passion from his youth: painting. His abstract works attempt to visualize decay through depth and the use of mixed media, often using sand, marble dust, copper, and metal flakes to add texture.
