About this artwork
In my work I was inspired by the energy and dynamism of the Pop Art style to create an expressive and life-affirming atmosphere. Using oil paints, I brought a vibrant spectrum of colors and shapes onto the canvas that awakens emotions and captivates the viewer.
The figure with the banknote represents El Ekeko, a popular lucky charm in Bolivia and Peru, who in local folklore is said to pour out material wealth from his cornucopia over the people.… The earthly paradise appears to be one of abundance, success and well-being. But isn't his basic idea an eschatological expectation of salvation with the hope of rescue and redemption, beyond hardship and death?
