About this artwork
In “Ruedamn,” Jorge Urioste transforms an ordinary encounter between two vehicles into a study of perception. Reflected across the polished surface of one car, the rear wheel of another loses its familiar geometry and takes on an unexpected, almost fluid form. What first appears altered or unreal is created entirely by the relationship between object, reflection, and viewpoint.
Through his sensory approach to photography, Jorge discovers visual tension… in a fleeting detail: metal reflects metal, function gives way to abstraction, and a recognizable mechanical form becomes unstable. The title combines “rueda,” the Spanish word for wheel, with a subtle expression of surprise, capturing the instant when the everyday slips into something strange.
Mounted on a finely crafted wooden backing frame, the photograph gains a subtle physical depth that echoes the layered nature of the image.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Alejandro and Jorge Urioste are Bolivian brothers and artists whose distinct yet complementary paths share a family-rooted creative sensitivity. Each retains his own voice and authority.
Alejandro, born in 1980, is a self-taught artist with an exceptional ability to transform materials, objects, and ideas into art. His practice includes painting and drawing, but is defined above all by his signature two-dimensional metal sculptures. Built with mesh, wire, layered forms, and voids, this distinctive technique has known few parallels in contemporary art.
Jorge, born in 1978 and trained in architecture, brings a refined understanding of space, form, and composition to photography and applied arts. Through sensory photography, he discovers poetic beauty in overlooked places, revealing precious images where they might otherwise go unnoticed. Its development also includes specialized courses and participation in contemporary art and photography exhibitions.
