About this artwork
Agua Vida (“Water Life”) explores destiny as an occurrence between people — the way bodies interact
or collide in space. With panoramic sea-scapes, Hugh Arnold’s imagery delves into the multifarious and
explosive bonds that bring people together and tear them apart. Each image serves as a complex
portrait of human relationships and interaction.
Also available in smaller and larger edition sizes

« The commercial world is bound by constraints and obligations. To rid yourself of these obligations is to discover true freedom as an artist. From this point working from one's inner core is the greatest gift imaginable. »
Hugh Arnold is an exciting photographer from the UK. He exclusively photographs in the ocean, using Olympic swimmers as his models. His four series, Agua Nacida, Agua Vida, Agua Profunda and Agua Alta represent birth, life, the subconscious and death respectively. In documenting the submerged human body, Arnold seeks to make visual an essential human quality: a subtle vitality that stirs within us all.
