About this artwork
Walking through the city I came across a stained and paint-peeling wall. The dark-stained cement with peeling paint was not what I saw. I saw a seascape of rolling waves and a dramatic sky above revealing a message about rising sea levels and the pressures of a changing climate.
By adding a sofa from which a man is carried aloft and away from a wave about to engulf him it suggests the denial of environmental crisis is futile and dangerous.
