About this artwork
The artist got to know Bambou, the last companion of Serge Gainsbourg, during the preparation of the "Ecce homo" exhibition dedicated to the tenth anniversary of Gainsbourg's death.
Over the following years, several photos and drawings of which Bamboo was the model were produced by the artist, as well as a large portrait in oil pastel.

Igor Bitman, a painter and photographer who resides in France, has exhibited nationally, as well as in Switzerland, Canada, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and China. The main theme in his works is beauty and ‘seizing beauty that goes away’. For this reason, Bitman’s paintings and photographs highlight the beauty of the feminine form. His favorite techniques include traditional oil, oil pastel and encaustic painting with beeswax.
