About this artwork
This work continues my exploration of organic, flowing forms inspired by nature, but here the image becomes more introspective and personal. The central shape resembles a drifting mollusk — a Nautilus, slowly moving through deep water, enclosed within its delicate shell.
For me, this form is about a state of being. It reflects a quiet, solitary movement through life — a sense of floating forward while remaining partially protected, even hidden,… behind a fragile but beautiful exterior.
The title Nautilus Pompilius, often translated as “common boat,” carries a subtle romanticism. It connects the image to my personal attraction to the sea, to ships, and to the idea of a journey — slow, thoughtful, and inward. Like a small vessel drifting through vast space, the figure exists somewhere between isolation and freedom. Softness and motion intertwine with a quiet tension — suggesting that even within stillness, there is constant movement, growth, and direction.
