About this artwork
I have called this painting "Patience", it is special & unusual for my works.
For several years, while working on my collection called "Magic Carpets" I was using sandpaper as a wipe of paints on canvas to give it the effect of antiquity. Thus, I have collected a lot of pieces of this paper, of different colors. One day I laid out some of these pieces and made a composition out of them. I liked this experiment & decided to transfer this to canvas… & fix all the elements with glue. The process of installation took a very long time because I had to do it by parts & make the overall composition balanced in color. After a long, hard & painstaking work I was able to complete this experiment.
Patience is all I needed to get this job done. A lot of pieces had been involved in creating beautiful a magic collection were concentrated here.

Igor Eliseev is a Russian painter who has opened numerous solo exhibitions throughout China and Russia. Working with oil on canvas, Eliseev is inspired by diverse stimuli, including Turkish carpets, Arabian stories, and the Cartier tank watch. Mysterious and radiant, Eliseev's figurative works border on the surreal, and are abundant with geometric patterns and motifs from ancient Arabic art.
