"Branch TOKYO" is part of the "Branches" series. This branch strongly reminds me of my trip and experiences in Tokyo in 2005. A branch (here, an oak branch) that is already dying. Exposed to ice and snow, drought, and heat for centuries, it still has a little bark left, which transports nutrients to the tips and allows leaves to sprout. If you're lucky, you'll find such beautiful branches that look as if they were designed by a venerable… bonsai master.
With the series Geäst I examine the will to live and the assertion of oneself in the storm of life's challenges.
The work is signed on the back with the name of the work and the year.
