About this artwork
This work is made in the dormitory area of Crimean city Eupatoria in 2013. There I made a series of works under the name VETROGRAD.
Works were made on plein air.
All this series including this work (which is a kind of a modest manifesto of Vetrograd, was displayed on the exhibition poster) is about the urban space and the human figures in it, drawn by some winds or their own reasons, passing each other by and staying lonely in a strange all-sufficient… way.

« I look at the space through my own optics, and I feel the need to show it this way to other people. »
Inga Levi is a 'poet of the city', her work depicts urban landscapes in varying genres. The Ukrainian artist's paintings explore both the harmony and tension between humans and space, as well as the transformation of common places through 'artistic optics'. Levi often creates using pastels in plein air in order to directly catch the impression, finishing the piece in her studio.
