About this artwork
Ink is not a forgiving medium. It cannot be undone, reworked, or second-guessed. Every mark is a commitment — and that is precisely what draws me to it.
"Iris" was created using flowing ink directly on canvas, allowing the pigment to find its own path. The result is an organic, almost otherworldly bloom: deep violet and midnight blue bloom outward from the centre in formations that echo both the flower and the eye — two things that open, take in… light, and hold what they see.
There is something intimate about this piece. Up close, you can trace the fine filaments of ink where the pigment separated and settled. From a distance, the whole image breathes with a quiet, hypnotic depth.
Named for the flower that symbolises both wisdom and wonder, "Iris" is a piece for those who appreciate subtlety — art that rewards attention and reveals more the longer you look.
Original ink on canvas. Solid wooden frame. Ready to hang. Certificate of authenticity included.
Some things cannot be planned. Not the moment a wave breaks. Not the way ink bleeds into wet paper. Not the shade of emerald that appears when two colours meet on a tilted canvas.
That is where I work — in the space between intention and surprise.
I am Inna Horch, a German-based abstract artist working in Fluid Art, Pouring Art, Ink Art, and Epoxy Resin. I pour, tilt, and layer — guiding the paint while allowing it a freedom I cannot fully control. What emerges is always a negotiation between what I planned and what the materials decided.
My works have found homes in collections across Europe and beyond. Several series have sold out. Each piece is an original, hand-created in my studio in Germany, signed with a certificate of authenticity.
I work on commission — if you are drawn to a particular palette, scale, or mood, I would love to create something made for your space.
