About this artwork
Remember Yourself
This painting was born from the truth of being a woman — giving light and love to others, while so many women are left in shadows, unseen and unloved. It speaks of the quiet exhaustion that settles deep in the soul, yet also of the moment when strength rises again.
The flowing forms and layered colors carry both pain and renewal, mirroring the journey of breaking and awakening. It is a reminder that no matter your age — even at… seventy — the radiant spirit of a young woman can return, ready to embrace life again from the very beginning.
Remember Yourself is my reflection, my whisper, and my call to every woman: you are worthy of love, of light, of a new beginning.
For the women who were rejected.
Born in 1974 in Istanbul, I have always experienced art as something as vital as breathing — an inseparable rhythm of my inner life. Painting, for me, is not simply the act of creating images; it is a way of giving form to invisible movements of thought and dreams. Being born on the Anatolian lands — a timeless bridge between East and West — is, I believe, a singular inheritance. These lands carry the breath of ancient civilizations, the wisdom of lived cultures, and the deep memory of humanity’s continuous transformation. To emerge from such geography means to carry within one.
