About this artwork
In my work I have used the fluidity of Indian ink to create a semi-abstract representation that takes the viewer into a realm of interpretation and sensation. I wanted to tell a story with every brush stroke and capture the subtle tension between form and void. This work of art will bring an atmosphere of thoughtfulness and artistic energy to any home.

Iris Vitzthum is an award-winning painter and draftsman based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Japan, China, and the United States. She describes her artistic process as originating from the observation of her surroundings. Searching for the substrate, Vitzthum says that she steals, destroys, lies, and exaggerates in her surreal compositions. She creates using acrylics, oils, pigments, and India ink on canvas.
