About this artwork
In this acrylic painting, I intertwine abstract elements with a palette of earthy greens, golds and deep blues to evoke a sense of renewal and awakening. The vertical strokes are reminiscent of light gently falling through trees, while the rough, textured areas are like fragments of ancient walls whispering stories. This work is intended to bring the vitality and mystery of spring into any home, a daily anchor of inspiration and contemplation.
Irmtraut Behrens, an artist from Bremen, uses acrylic paint and canvas, but started with pastel chalk on cardboard. Her palette ranges from erotic images of women, abstract works to animal images. Her style is variable, always characterized by a strong sensitivity. Irmtraut's art embodies the feeling of joy. It makes her happy when someone decides to live with her works. In 1999 she moved to Husum on the beautiful North Sea coast with its wonderful light and cloud formations. Exhibitions in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Denmark were quite successful.
