About this artwork
My approach to engraving in the decade 2000-2010 allowed me to face new technical challenges that in the long run positively influenced my current painting.
This engraving, obtained from a 26 x 32.5 cm plate, uses the aquatint and lost varnish technique and is stamped by the author in various colors. It is a work that is framed in its time of the so-called "organic sorbets", and presents sinuous and lyrical lines with other faded and blurred areas… that give depth and mystery and some atmosphere to the work.
The stamping was done in the workshop of the House of Culture of San Lorenzo de el Escorial on Arches paper
« I've always been interested in anything that smelled of creativity... »
It was while walking on a beach in Malaga as a child that Perdiguero found a beautiful blue stone on the sand and became captivated by colour. An autodidact painter with additional interests in lithography and textiles, her abstract pieces are marked by an inventive take on colour, light, and their dynamic interaction.
