About this artwork
With the “Offspring” painting, he continues with the narrative of reestablishing the self. “Offspring” shows abstract figure in black tuxedo who is protruding from his environment but before he can find himself and fully blossom into a fully realized being he is regressing back into his environment. This is on a continuous loop as he attempts to rejuvenate himself. This is a commentary of our current society where the masses try to find themselves…
but because of information overload with social media and mass media we constantly compare ourself with outs or with new information as a result just when we think we have figuring out who we are, we start comparing ourself with others and take a step back to figuring out ourself again.

« For me art is about taking my personal experiences, thoughts and interior monologues and creating visual experiences that in turn will open up a new world of imagination and experience for the viewer. »
Jack Avetisyan is an Armenian-American artist whose paintings display various distinctive identities. His style oscillates between cartoons and abstract compositions, often combining the two into a single piece. His subjects are business people, worldly young adults, old-school sophisticates, who are typically self-satisfied and reeking of financial and social success. His characters occupy an unruly yet elegant a world of drips, darting lines, and swaths of paint.
