About this artwork
With “Still here” the cycle of architectures sculpted in matter continues, this time the monument is imaginary but takes on historical stylistic characteristics.
This imposing structure that rises majestically, is carved into the wall of a canyon, in the worlds of cracks that the earth creates. It is illuminated by the grazing light at the end of the gorge, revealing a sense of antiquity that defies time.
The character at the top of the mule… track is an observer like us, he scrutinizes the imposing panorama and the other figure lower down, who is unaware of being observed.
Jacopo Berlendis, architect and painter, explores the fusion between design and art by cultivating natural and transformative themes. He uses earth and vegetation, modeling them in three-dimensional works which with acrylics and pigments interpret landscapes animated by a powerful physicality. His creations evoke a feeling of regeneration, revealing underground worlds of sublime material metamorphosis.
