About this artwork
My art journey has been an emotional one with many ups and downs. I wanted to escape from the world as a child and painting gave me that escape. My first painting that I sold was of Liam Gallagher. This gave me so much confidence and I have never looked back. This is my second hyperrealism portrait of Liam Gallagher of Oasis.
Music means so much to me and Oasis were the soundtrack to my youth. I remember seeing Liam Gallagher at Knebworth and he… roamed the stage like a caged tiger. It is this energy and aggression that I wanted to show in my painting.
I got to work on the canvas using large brushes creating dashes of heavy and thick colour to a black background as I was trying to layer the painting with energy and emotion. I painted Liam with tiny brushes, very delicately, painting every hair, every skin pore. It is this delicacy against this background of chaos that I wanted to show in this painting.
