About this artwork
A smaller subject taken straight from the garden. I found a beautiful wilting sunflower and managed to merge some closeup pictures of a bumblebee I had found minutes earlier. Working on a more minute scale I allowed areas of the painting to remain very loose and fluid while others had more enhanced detail such as the center of the flower. It was great to capture this little guy doing his thing, both for the importance of bees but also for such a…
