About this artwork
James lived in Vancouver, Canada during the 90’s, growing in his front garden was the largest Magnolia tree in Vancouver, according to the local council. Very early each spring it would start to blossom, the south side of the tree would open first, then over about two weeks the rest of the flowers would follow suit.
