About this artwork
For this study, I worked with charcoal in order to achieve a greater contrast between the light and dark areas, highlighting the despair felt in the model's pose.

« Pick up your brush and make some noise, for no one remembered the silent ones. »
James Rocke is an artist based in Sweden whose paintings have been exhibited in England. In addition, his works have been featured in publications such as The Artist Lounge Art Magazine. Rocke believes that art is an infinite quest towards self-discovery as well as a means of communication that has no set rules, no boundaries, and therefore no standards as to what is beautiful or obscene. His distinctive figurative pieces are created with oils on paper.
