About this artwork
Wounds is a deeply psychological and raw exploration of self-sabotage, internal conflict, and the destructive intersection of emotional pain and alcohol abuse.
The artwork grew out of a personal reflection on how we, as human beings, inflict suffering upon ourselves—often becoming both the perpetrator and the victim of our own actions. Centered around a distorted, expressive figure emerging from a wine glass, the composition visualizes the paradox… of seeking refuge or numbness in alcohol, only to find that it deepens the very injuries we hope to soothe.
The figure holds a sharp, elongated blade directly across its neck and mouth, illustrating the fragile boundary between coping mechanisms and self-destruction.
