“Born For?” deals with mankind and the role creation plays in the formation of our identity when growing up in an urban environment. It looks at the concept of masculinity and the way it has changed from the time our ancestors had to live off, and survive the wilderness around them, to the modern, urban man that hardly ever sets foot in untamed nature, and never needs to rely on physical strength and endurance to survive. In this work the artist hints at a throwback to man’s relationship to nature and creation around him - when his identity and function was deeply linked to nature.
This is an oil painting on un-stretched canvas, shipped rolled up in a tube. However having it stretched over a stretcher is an option at extra cost.

Janna Prinsloo is a South African artist who has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. Prinsloo was raised in a family of artists making her passion for art instinctive and fundamental. Her paintings release a real sense of optimism and hope as Prinsloo seeks to explore innermost human feelings. Oil on board is Prinsloo's favourite medium as this enables her to create texture and depth. All of her paintings include a focal figure surrounded by an abstract colour field, as a result her art has an entrancing and personal quality.
