About this artwork
This work was inspired by, and executed, during the global Covid 19 endemic. It deals with the experience of a slow realisation that starts to sink in that the strong desire to return to normal is in vain. There will not be a normal to return to. Very probably the world will have changed irrevocably, and things will be different than from before the endemic hit. What awaits us in the future?

Janna Prinsloo is a South African artist who has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. Prinsloo was raised in a family of artists making her passion for art instinctive and fundamental. Her paintings release a real sense of optimism and hope as Prinsloo seeks to explore innermost human feelings. Oil on board is Prinsloo's favourite medium as this enables her to create texture and depth. All of her paintings include a focal figure surrounded by an abstract colour field, as a result her art has an entrancing and personal quality.
