About this artwork
As long as I can remember has the wolf fascinated me. It is such a regal and beautiful animal. It is so attractive, and one wants to tame it and stroke it, yet it is wild and dangerous. In this artwork the wolf and the orange cones and road board all represent or echo something within the personality of the man in the painting, as well as the wings on his leather jacket.
Everyone one of us is a mixture of elements. Which are we embracing and which… are we running from? What parts of us should we value and nurture?

Janna Prinsloo is a South African artist who has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. Prinsloo was raised in a family of artists making her passion for art instinctive and fundamental. Her paintings release a real sense of optimism and hope as Prinsloo seeks to explore innermost human feelings. Oil on board is Prinsloo's favourite medium as this enables her to create texture and depth. All of her paintings include a focal figure surrounded by an abstract colour field, as a result her art has an entrancing and personal quality.
