About this artwork
This artwork is entirely about the visual experience when confronted with a mirror polished piece, the way in which it bends light and your own personal form all throughout the day and evening. This is one of the most dynamic pieces I have worked with, the techniques to acquire a finish on stainless steel like this were like any other techniques I have worked with in my career.

Jason Rhinevault primarily works with negative spaces and depth in his pieces. The American sculptor offsets some of his compositions from the back mounting plate, by as much as an inch, creating a visual illusion. The use of negative space and depth gives the viewer several aspects to consider. Rhinevault is drawn to metal, as a medium, for its strength and organic qualities. He considers the patina application as important as the welding process.
