About this artwork
Inspired by my memories of lovely fabrics, textures and patterns of little gift boxes made in China and Japan, I played with my own paintings cutting shapes and pasting them onto the canvas to evoke the same visceral experience. There are parts of as many as seven paintings in this piece. The series is called Energetic Interventions because I desperately wanted to generate some excitement being trapped by inclement weather.
