About this artwork
Points of Departure is an abstract expression of feelings that we are not all aligned with one another, that there are divisions in the world. We have our differences, and many use that as a way to not interact or to be judgmental towards one another. It is the recognition that facts are real and can misinterpreted. The artist was grappling with communication with her family members that she felt were not open to hearing the truth about many things,… that their prejudices colored their points of view, and without even expressing any desire to know whatever truth or facts were about a situation, she found it frustrating and increasingly she felt distant from them. What causes people to follow someone who is not interested in her country's best interest? How can her country be taken over by people who would trash the government? This work reflects these feelings. This piece is professionally framed.
