About this artwork
Targeted came about as I was working during the ending of the pandemic, and there seemed to be an increase in hate crimes, sadly they continue. I was feeling the sorrow for so many people who experience being shunned, mistreated, punished and killed because of their race, color of their skin, religion and ethnicity. It is hard to comprehend that we have not advanced as a civilization to be accepting of those who do not believe as we do, do not look… as if we think they should. I almost despise the word tolerance because it implies that those different from us need to be tolerated rather than loved, embraced or appreciated for who they are. Many of us grew up in an era of hope and the premise that life would evolve to be better, humans would be more civilized and intelligent. It saddens me when that is not so. So getting back to my work, I take all that affects me in the outside world and my interior world, use it like pigment to express it all. #political # environment #peace #abstract
Jaye Alison Moscariello harnesses water-based mediums like acrylic and watercolor, influenced by a creative upbringing and artistic journey. Through abstraction and intuitive color selection, she captures the interplay between forms, with lines that articulate deep-seated emotions. Her art resonates with joy and upliftment, transforming personal and worldly complexities into visual harmony.
