About this artwork
Crocodile Tears explores the tension between profit-driven policies and human welfare, inspired by cultures that view their citizens as valuable investments worthy of education, security, and genuine quality of life—what some measure as the "happiness factor."
Painted in sweeping blues contrasted with deceptively sweet pinks, yellows, browns, and gold, this piece emerged from my response to recurring mass school shootings in the United States and… the hollow "thoughts and prayers" offered instead of meaningful action. The title reflects my frustration with those who distort truth for financial gain while tragedy continues unchecked.
When words failed me, paint became my voice. This work captures that moment of grief, anger, and disbelief—a visual testament to the gap between what we could be and what we've become.
