About this artwork
I wanted to show the "dented" bust of Leonidas, King of Sparta, who according to legend repelled thousands of Persian soldiers with the help of 300 Spartan soldiers. This bust is full of power, strength and tragedy and conforms to the Greek tragedies developed in mythological texts. On a decorative level, this work brings a touch of reassuring emotional charge to your interior.

Jean Gabriel Mondié, a self-taught sculptor initially trained in painting and painting restoration at Drouot, draws his inspiration from classical tradition and anatomical power, using primarily bronze.
