Vanity.
On this first day of autumn, the forest has donned its finest attire. Like Narcissus, it gazes at its reflection in the water, unable to tear itself away from the echo of its own splendor.
She can already hear the swan song — winter is approaching, and she senses its imminent end.
But if the hand of men does not shatter the mirror, the spring nymphs will bring it back to life. And we will return to gather the blooming daffodils.
