« Obsessed with color and nature, I sketch the organic forms that surround me outside and take these back to my studio, painting them into something beautiful. »
Jen Shewring is an Australian artist whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. Her current works focus on the depiction of flowers found in nature utilizing the layering of abstract organic forms. The deep charcoal background that Shewring employs in her compositions reflects the darkness she feels when humans continue to
"wreak havoc on our environment". For her, it is vital that her art tells a story while also bringing pleasure to the viewer.
