About this artwork
To make this sculpture, I first make a drawing of the figure or figures I want to make. I take this to the Work Center to have it scaled to the size I need. Using tracing paper, I draw the shapes I've decided I need to make my sculpture. Using carbon paper, I draw the shapes on cardboard, which I then cut out. These shapes serve as templates for repeating the sculptures. I then place the templates on the iron sheet, which I then take to the foundry…

My work captures the dynamic essence of skiing in cast iron. Every line and contour has been forged with passion, highlighting the elegance and fluid movement of the skier. This sculpture seeks not only to decorate a space but also to instill a spirit of adventure and freedom, symbolizing the struggle against adversity and the courage to face challenges with grace.

Jenifer Carey is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy and the United Kingdom. Music, especially jazz, is one of the main recurring themes in her art. Carey employs engraving and sculptural techniques for the faces of her subjects, whose hands and movements are always expressive. In addition, she portrays her observations and life experiences in order to "capture a moment". She creates using oils on canvas.
