In this painting, I captured a group of roseate spoonbills gathering along a marshy shoreline at the last light of day. The birds are poised in varied positions, some standing in calm stillness while one stretches its wings wide. Warm oranges and yellows from the setting sun fill the sky and reflect across the water, playing against the cooler pinks and purples of the spoonbills with an intentional vibrancy that never loses the scene's peaceful mood.…
