About this artwork
"Icicle" is a painting dedicated to the ice at midwinter shining under the sun. The painting had a beautiful palette: violet, bright white, gold pigments, chromatic grays. It was made using ample passages with a palette knife and has beautiful textured sections that resemble dripping ice. It is dedicated to the delicate mystery of the ice.
The painting is mounted in a very simple white floater frame that adds approximately 1 3/8 inches to the total… measurements.

« My paintings are an ode to life, to becoming, and to majesty. They are a reminder to take a moment to release the trappings of the mundane, to be still. »

There is a poetry in the natural world, a lyrical beauty and power. My work is a meditation on my own connection to the majesty of the natural world. I am a recent cancer survivor, and my latest body of work reflects the light I sought at the end of the tunnel, the light I capture from the natural world and transmute into my paintings. My work is an expression of my own will to thrive and live, even through the most intense suffering.
My paintings have been exhibited in Europe and the USA, and are part of private collections in 18 countries.
I live for half the year in the mountains of northern Italy, and for the other half in the Colorado Rockies.
My experience defeating breast cancer is the driving force behind my body of work this year. The power of nature is the power of life.
