자연과의 공존 테마로 매 발톱 꽃을 소재로 한 작품이다. 매 발톱 꽃을 소재로 그림을 그리던 중 대한민국의 2014년 4월 16일 세월 호 사건이 일어났다. 안산시 단원 고등학생 325명 포함 476명의 승객을 태우고 제주도로 가던 중 전남 진도군 앞바다에서 침몰 당한 사건이다. 매우 안타깝고 충격적인 큰 사건이다. 한국은 노란 리본으로 물결치고 슬픔에 잠겼다. 나 또한 너무 슬퍼서 노란 매 발톱 꽃으로 수학여행 가던 학생들을 위로하는 마음에 작품을 표현했다 살아서 돌아오라는 메세지다.
