About this artwork
This painting is inspired by one of my photographs from Giverny, France at Claude Monet's home and water garden. The water lilies have been an inspiration for me since my first visit to Giverny in 1990 when I first painted them in water colors. This particular artwork was commissioned by a client.

« I believe that as an artist I am an active part of the social and cultural narrative. »
Jill Hackney is an American artist whose paintings have been exhibited both nationally and in France. She describes the focus of her artistic practice as being related to light, especially reflected light. When Hackney creates a piece, she wants viewers to have a sense that it is a vignette of a much larger scene or space. Her preferred medium is oil on canvas.
