About this artwork
"Flayed" is one of my first experiments with acrylics. Self-taught, I approached painting as a field of freedom, allowing spontaneous gestures to emerge, similar to the automatic writing of the surrealists. Each trace, stain, or accident was accepted as an integral part of the work. Executed in a few seconds, this piece bears witness to this raw and immediate energy.

JLP, a pharmacist by training who became a collector and gallery owner, explores painting, drawing, collage, photography, and digital art. He adopts hybrid techniques combining abstraction, fantasy, and humor, leaving room for chance, the absurd, and intuition to guide his gesture.
