About this artwork
"Perched" symbolizes one of my first adventures with oil. Self-taught, I explored painting as a terrain of freedom, allowing spontaneous gestures to spring forth, like those of the surrealists' automatic writing. Each imprint was integrated as an essential facet of the work. Conceived in a few moments, this piece reflects a raw and instantaneous energy.
