Turning lead into gold was an endeavor of material alchemy, which, however, encoded the true meaning of this transformation. In truth, it is about the inner development process, the refinement of one's own being, or the approach to the inner "Golden Buddha", which in Buddhism describes the spiritual core of a person. This triptych is intended to embody this inner path. Jo Schmid has been dealing with the topic of change in all forms for many years…
